Susan Lee

Susan Sohyoung Lee is a Korean American abstract artist based in Los Angeles. After a 25-year career in the nonprofit sector in NYC, DC, and Los Angeles, where she worked on systems change and race equity in public education for 12 years and homelessness/housing for 10 years, Susan is now focusing full-time on her art. Her paintings incorporate feelings - anger, hope, peace - and thoughts about individual trauma and collective trauma around race and gender. Susan holds a BA from Harvard University in African American Women’s Literature (focusing on Toni Morrison), and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
